Atlas (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Atlas personal assistant service accessible at join-atlas.com and via WhatsApp (“the Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account registration details (name, email address)
- Preferences and settings you configure
- Messages you send to Atlas via WhatsApp or the app
Information from connected services
When you connect third-party accounts, we access the following data with your explicit permission:
- Google Gmail — Email messages and metadata (sender, recipient, subject, date, body content) to provide meeting context, relationship insights, and commitment tracking
- Google Calendar — Calendar events, attendees, and scheduling details to prepare meeting briefs and manage your schedule
- Google Contacts — Contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, and organization details to identify relationships and provide context about people you interact with
- Meeting transcription services (Granola, Krisp, Circleback) — Meeting transcripts and summaries to build context about your professional interactions
- WhatsApp — Messages you exchange with Atlas, and if you opt in, message history from your WhatsApp account to provide personal communication context
Information generated by the Service
- Knowledge graph data (relationships between people, companies, topics derived from your connected data)
- Meeting preparation briefs and summaries
- Commitment and action item tracking data
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve the Service:
- Generating meeting preparation briefs with relevant context
- Delivering daily schedule summaries
- Tracking commitments and action items from your meetings
- Building your personal knowledge graph to improve the relevance of insights over time
- Identifying contacts and relationships across your connected data sources
We do not use your information to:
- Display advertisements or target you with ads
- Train general-purpose AI models on your personal data
- Build profiles for sale to third parties
- Send unsolicited marketing communications
3. Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure
Atlas’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide and improve the Service as described in this policy
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except (a) as necessary to provide the Service, (b) for security purposes, or (c) to comply with applicable law
- We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes
- We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless (a) you provide explicit consent for a specific message, (b) it is necessary for security or legal compliance, or (c) the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations
- We limit our use of Google user data to the practices disclosed in this policy
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secured servers (PlanetScale Postgres hosted infrastructure)
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- We implement access controls to ensure your data is only accessible to your Atlas instance
- We use structured tool-based access patterns to prevent cross-user data exposure
- OAuth tokens for connected services are stored encrypted and are never exposed to other users
5. Data Retention
- We retain your connected service data for up to 365 days from the date of ingestion
- Meeting notes and knowledge graph data are retained for as long as your account is active
- You can request deletion of specific data or your entire account at any time (see Section 8)
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers — We use third-party infrastructure providers (hosting, database, LLM providers) to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
- LLM providers — To generate meeting briefs and insights, portions of your data are sent to large language model providers via API. We use providers that do not train on API inputs and we do not send your raw email or message content unnecessarily.
- Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your data, including disconnecting any linked services and purging all ingested data
- Revoke access — Disconnect any connected service at any time through your account settings or by revoking access directly in the connected service (e.g., Google Account permissions at myaccount.google.com)
- Data portability — Request an export of your data in a standard format

8. Account Deletion
You can request full account deletion by contacting [email protected]. Upon deletion:
- All personal data, knowledge graph data, and ingested content will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- OAuth tokens will be revoked and deleted immediately
- Backup copies will be purged within 90 days
9. Cookies and Tracking
The join-atlas.com website uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use analytics tracking, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking pixels.
10. Children’s Privacy
Atlas is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and European Union. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
